Bi-annual Safety Partnership Meeting to provide information about OSHA crystalline silica standards

The Associated General Contractors of Indiana (AGCI), Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration (IOSHA) and Indiana Constructors, Inc. (ICI) Bi-Annual Safety Partnership Meeting will take place on June 29.

Attendees will learn about the new federal OSHA standard on occupational exposure to respirable crystalline silica including its application, who’s affected, dates for compliance, testing requirements and what practical applications are available to assist with compliance.

Safety professionals Kevin Turner, AECOM Hunt, and Bruce Guiliani, Heritage Group Safety, will lead the program. Mike VanPutten, Hilti representative and Gary Smith, State Safety Group, will also be on hand to demonstrate equipment and PPE used for silica applications.

The event starts at 10 a.m. at Pepper Construction Company of Indiana, LLC, 1850 W. 15 St., Indianapolis.  After lunch, small groups will explore the equipment and witness a wet cutting process up close and personal.

There is no fee to attend the event. Registration is at the ICI website.
