Construction workers repairing sewers near Brooklyn psychiatric hospital uncover human remains

Police say construction workers repairing sewers near a Brooklyn psychiatric hospital unearthed human remains on Aug. 21.

The workers were using heavy equipment to dig at Clarkson Ave. by E. 48th St., near the Kingsboro Psychiatric Center in East Flatbush when they found a skull, arm and leg bones, police said. The remains were buried 13 feet underground.

The city medical examiner determined Monday night the remains belonged to a human, The New York Daily News quoted police sources as saying.  Police could not say how long the bones had been buried at the site.
