Ricketts family receives $50 million building permit for hotel adjacent to Wrigley Field

Chicago has issued a $50 million building permit for a new hotel adjacent to Wrigley Field at 3630 N. Clark.

The Hotel Zachery, scheduled to open in 2018, was “inspired by visionary Wrigley Field architect and Chicagoan Zachary Taylor Davis,” the hotel’s website says. The building’s actual architect of record is Micahel Toois from VOA Associates Inc.

The permit documentation says the project will be a “six-story 179 guest room hotel with 74 parking spaces with ground floor commercial.”

Walsh Construction Company is listed as the general contractor. Key subtrades include: Electrical, Titan Electric. LLC.; plumbing, Adamson Plumbing Contractor; and refrigeration and ventilation, F. E. Moran.

The project’s owner, Hickory Street Capital, “is a real estate development company founded by the Ricketts Family to pursue Chicago-based real estate interests outside of their baseball interests. The company is building a lifestyle, mixed-use development adjacent to Wrigley Field, including a 175-room boutique hotel, office building and community oriented plaza.”
