Developer Halcyon Capital Management is filing plans for a 33-story, 532-apartment building on the Greenpoint waterfront, indicating a flurry of activity at the undeveloped site bound by Quay and Oak streets along the East River, Curbed NY reports. The Nov. 1 filing suggests megaproject is anticipated for the waterfront site.
The reported building will be 33 stories. The developer had filed in Sept. 2015 an application for a 19-story tower at 27 West St. with 234 apartments, and in Sept. 2017, sought permission to build a 14-story building at 37 West St. with 92 apartments and 97 parking spaces.
A Department of Housing Preservation & Development official told Curbed that the developer has submitted an application for the site for a privately financed voluntary inclusionary housing building with 222 affordable apartments. Of those apartments, 89 are proposed to be affordable to low-income households and 132 units are to be affordable to middle-income households.
