The Lane Construction Corporation has secured a $238 million contract to design and build improvements along a key stretch of Interstate 75 (I-75) in Marion County, a critical freight and passenger corridor in North Central Florida.

The project, awarded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), spans from State Road (S.R.) 200 to State Road 326 and is part of the state’s broader Moving Florida Forward infrastructure initiative.

Work includes the addition of auxiliary lanes between interchanges, replacement of bridges, milling and resurfacing, installation of noise barriers, a new interchange at 49th Street, and modifications to interchanges at S.R. 40 and S.R. 326. The goal is to increase roadway capacity, enhance safety and improve stormwater drainage along the corridor.

According to FDOT, the upgrades are expected to significantly reduce congestion — cutting delays on northbound I-75 by 96 per cent and southbound by 88 per cent. Improved shoulders and medians are also intended to aid in hurricane evacuations and long-term maintenance access.

Construction is slated to begin in early 2026 and take approximately three years to complete.

The project adds to Lane Construction’s expanding portfolio of highway infrastructure work across Florida. The company is also working on multiple projects throughout the state, including major interchange upgrades in Tampa, Seminole, Polk, Lake, and Orange counties.

Lane is the U.S. subsidiary of global infrastructure firm Webuild Group.
