Berglund builds $18.5 milliion Wells St. center for Moody Global Ministries

Berglund Construction is working as the construction manager for Moody Global Ministries to build the Chapman Center at 855 N. Wells St.

Work on the 14-month project started in December, 2016, with site excavations and clearings. On May 16 this year, Chicago issued an updated $18.5 million permit for “shell and core of a 4-story office building with mechanical penthouse and basement as per plans.” There is also a reference for a 1,574 sq. ft. green roof.

Berglund says the “50,000 sq. ft. building will primarily serve as Moody’s global media center, becoming home to Moody Radio and Moody Publishers. Featuring state-of-the-art work spaces and radio broadcast production studios, the Chapman Center will also serve as a hands-on space for Moody Bible Institute’s students to learn from seasoned professionals.”

Subcontractors include: Electrical – Rex Elect. & Technologies LLC.; plumber/plumbing, J.C. Erickson; refrigeration and ventilation, Roberts Environmental Control.
