NR Investments’ CANVAS condominium tower, the flagship residential building of Miami’s burgeoning Arts + Entertainment District (A+E), has officially topped-off construction at 37 stories. The announcement was made in tandem with general contractor Stiles Construction and the project’s sales broker.
The art and design inspired building at1630 N.E. 1st Ave., which comprises 513 residences — the largest of its size in the A+E — broke ground in February 2016. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018.
NR Investments and its principals say they are the founders of the Arts + Entertainment District, an enclave flanked by Wynwood, Edgewater and downtown Miami. “What we’ve built in the Arts + Entertainment District has been transformative…and CANVAS is a direct reflection of that,” said Nir Shoshani, principal, NR Investments. “Overall, this is an important moment for the city as it is another example of the strong interest among buyers to live in the urban core of Miami and take advantage of its art-infused offerings.”
The news release didn’t state the project’s construction/building permit value, although the South Florida Business Journal reported in 2015 that the developers had paid a $4.85 million impact fee payment to the county, city, water department and utilities as a condition for its 1 million-sq. ft. project.
