Conde Nast names JW Marriott Indianapolis as readers’ favorite for second year in a row

JW Marriott Indianapolis has been recognized in the Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2017 as the #1 best hotel in the Midwest for a second consecutive year.

The travel magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards is the longest-running recognition of excellence in the travel industry. It was started in 1988 and initially utilized manual voting through paper ballots. The magazine eventually switched to online voting in 2005.

JW Marriott Indianapolis was designed by veteran engineer and architect HOK with California builder AECOM behind the construction. The 33-story tower offers 1,005 guest rooms and 103,000 sq. ft. of onsite function space. It is connected to the Indiana Convention Center by a sky bridge. Amenities include a fitness center, indoor pool, public art plaza, three dining spaces and a full-service Starbucks.

For 2017, Conde Nast monitored votes on an hourly basis from April 1 to July 1, 2017. More than 300,000 readers responded, posting 100,000 comments that served as basis for selection of winners.

Overall, four properties developed or managed by Indiana-based White Lodging were voted as readers’ favorites. The Lodge and Spa at Brush Creek Ranch received the highest honor of being the #1 resort in the US for the fourth year in a row. It also ranked as #1 in the West and #7 in the world.

Meanwhile, in Texas, White Lodging’s Westin Austin Downtown ranked #10 and the JW Marriott Austin #15.

“I am incredibly proud of our associates and properties who have been recognized by voters as the best in the world,” said White Lodging management division’s president and CEO Ken Barrett.
