Dan Southwick to lead Dewberry’s national design-build practice from Raleigh

Dewberry says it has promoted engineer Dan Southwick to president of the firm’s design-build practice, which includes projects in the telecommunications and higher education market segments as well as turnkey services for federal and commercial clients.

He is based in the firm’s Raleigh, NC office.

Southwick is responsible for the oversight of more than 25 individuals. Southwick will retain his leadership responsibility as the telecommunications market segment leader.

“Over the past few years, Dewberry has been growing its construction practice,” says Dewberry CEO Donald E. Stone. “Dan has the leadership skills and capacity to expand this part of our business to meet our goals.”

“What’s exciting about design-build is the ability to discover truly creative approaches to complex projects,” Southwick said in a statement. “I’m humbled to have been selected for this position and am looking forward to expanding our ability to be the primary service provider to our clients.”

Southwick earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Buffalo (1986).
