Raleigh-based D&N Development has broken ground on The Fresh Market-anchored retail center in Holly Springs with the first stores opening by early 2018.
Triangle Business Journal reports D&N’s Nick Brown says the developer has closed on the purchase of the 6.4 acres of land next to the Harris Teeter and Sunset Lake Commons shopping center on Sunset Lake Rd. in Holly Springs.
Brown confirms he also has a lease deal pending with the owners of Town Hall Burger & Beer of Durham, which will be taking the center’s lone restaurant space. Town Hall also recently opened a location at Briar Chapel in Chapel Hill.
Construction of the center’s shell spaces is projected to be finished by late-September, which would push retailers to open by early 2018.
Also in north Raleigh, D&N is seeking master-plan approval for a mixed-use development site with a grocery store and multifamily community at the corner of Falls of Neuse and Raven Ridge roads, a project called Spencer Ridge.
