Etica Group acquires PCS Engineers

The Etica Group (Etica), an Indianapolis-based professional consulting firm specializing in architecture, engineering design, construction inspection and building envelope consulting services has acquired Avon-based civil engineering firm, PCS Engineers.

“The experience, skills and expertise that PCS Engineers bring to Etica and its clients is beyond measure,” Etica president and CEO Jessica Nickloy said in a statement. “This partnership is a demonstration of our dedication to our clients and the talented team of PCS will bolster our service offerings.”

Founded in 2005, Etica says it has “quickly established an impressive legacy by maintaining an upward momentum for the past 12 years.”

“This momentum has attracted sizeable clients, including Citizens Energy Group, Indianapolis Airport Authority, Purdue University, Indiana University, Ivy Tech Community College, numerous school districts throughout the state, and the City of Indianapolis,” the news release said.

“When you build a company from the ground up, you place a strong emphasis on always doing what is best for the firm, employees, and clients,” said PCS co-owner Cheryl Cunningham. “We are confident that Jessica and her team fulfill this obligation and we are looking forward to the next chapter of Etica’s growth and development.”

In previous years, the two firms have worked alongside each other on projects including the Eagle Creek Trail Phase 1, 38th & Olney Drainage Improvement Project, and numerous City of Indianapolis projects.

“With similar origin stories and nearly identical business philosophies, the synergy between the two firms is evident, and the specializations, certifications and accreditations of each, complementary,” the statement says.

The combined business will have 50 employees under the Etica Group namesake with offices in Indianapolis, Fishers, Avon and New Haven. Through the acquisition, the PCS team members will add 11 Indiana Department of Transportation qualifications to Etica’s existing services, as well as land surveying, transportation design and site development services that will significantly expand the firm’s current offerings.

“This is an exciting time for Etica and PCS Engineers. In this industry, when like-minded firms join together, the potential is nothing short of spectacular,” says Nickloy. “Acquiring PCS Engineers has presented us with an opportunity to grow from the inside, and in turn, continue to exceed client expectations for many years to come.”
