FVAGC and BA exploring potential merger

The Fox Valley Associated General Contractors (FVAGC) and Chicago’s Builders Association (BA) are exploring a merger.

FVAGC executive director Mike Hampson has sent a memo to members inviting them to  “a joint membership meeting to review the plan for the potential merger, name/logo and membership dues structure” on July 26.

The event will take place at lunchtime at Maggiano’s in Oakbrook.

Hampson declined to provide details about the potential merger, writing in an email to Chicago Construction News that “at this time I would like to wait on making any comment until we are a little further down the road.”

“I would be happy to talk to you in September,” he said.

In his memo to FVAGC members, he wrote: “If you have any questions you would like addressed before or at the meeting please feel free to contact mike.hampson@fvagc.org or call (630) 443-0055 at any time.”

Both FVAGC and the BA belong to the Associated General Contractors of America. FVAGC was organized in 1952 to serve Chicago’s suburbs. The BA says it has served as a resource for Chicagoland’s construction industry firms since 1906, and has been an AGC chapter since 1918.
