Greensboro approves building permit for $22.5 million Westin hotel; construction to start in 2025

The City of Greensboro has issued a building permit and approved site plans for a Westin hotel on Elm Street downtown.The project, headed by Elm Street Hotel LLC, was announced in 2017 and faced several delays including the pandemic.

Kaufman Lynn Construction is the general contractor.

Designed by CJMW Architecture, the hotel will be built on top of a five-story, 720-space public parking structure. It will include 180-rooms, restaurants, 22,000 s.f. of event space and a rooftop bar.

The total cost of construction is estimated to be $22.5 million. Construction on the hotel at 203 S Elm Street will begin in 2025.
