Harnett County has announced plans to develop the Harnett 95 Industrial Center, a 60-acre industrial park in the City of Dunn. The project, a partnership with the I-95/I-40 Crossroads of America Economic Development Alliance, will begin with construction of a 162,000-square-foot speculative industrial building, slated to start in the first quarter of 2025.
Located at the intersection of Arrowhead Road and U.S. 301, the Harnett 95 Industrial Center will include more than 800,000 sq. ft. of industrial space. Multiple space options will be available, ranging from 28,000 sq. ft. to a 621,000-sq. ft. single-user facility. Buildings will be available for both sale and lease.
The first phase is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025. The development will feature modern amenities and is designed to attract new industries, contributing to the economic growth of Harnett County.
“This project will help drive industrial growth in our county, creating high-quality jobs and boosting the local economy,” said Stephen Barrington, economic development director for Harnett County. “We are excited to work with our partners to bring this important development to fruition.”
The project has received support from the I-95/I-40 Crossroads of America Economic Development Alliance, which is contributing funds from a $24 million grant awarded by the North Carolina General Assembly in 2023. The grant is part of a broader initiative to enhance economic development and workforce training in the region.
“This partnership will make our region more competitive for industrial investment and job creation,” said Reid Williams, president of the I-95/I-40 Alliance. “The Harnett 95 Industrial Center will support the creation of hundreds of new jobs and provide a strong foundation for future economic growth.”
The City of Dunn also expressed support for the project, highlighting its positive impact on the local economy. Mayor William Elmore emphasized the city’s ongoing efforts to prepare workers for the new opportunities the industrial park will bring.
“The development of the Harnett 95 Industrial Center is a key part of our vision for the future,” Elmore said. “It will create jobs and strengthen our community, and we’re committed to ensuring our residents are ready to take advantage of these new opportunities.”
The Harnett 95 Industrial Center is expected to play a significant role in enhancing the region’s competitiveness and attracting new businesses. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025, with the first phase of the project set to be completed by the end of the year.
