Highwoods to break ground on $21.9 million Raleigh office building

Highwoods Properties says it will be breaking ground in the fall on a $21.9 million, three-story office building at the Raleigh Corporate Center after striking a deal with a new customer, Triangle Business Journal reports.

Highwoods didn’t disclose details of the new tenant, but a rendering of the proposed 751 Corporate Center building included in the company’s fourth quarter supplement report shows a three-story building with signage for the Ward and Smith law firm of Raleigh, the business publication reported.

Highwoods’ planned structure will be LEED-certified, multi-tenant with approximately 90,000 sq. ft.  of Class A office space. Construction will commence in the third quarter with a planned completion in late 2018.

Highwoods is also building the 166,500-sq. ft. 5000 CentreGreen office building in Cary, which is expected to be complete in August.

The business publication reports the company owns close to 5.1 million square feet of office space in the Triangle region, of which 92.7 percent was occupied in the fourth quarter, according to its report.
