Pridemark Construction, Inc. has started work on an expansion project at Cole Academy of dance, gymnastics and cheerleading in Muncie.
In 2015, Cole Academy owner Tracy Navas approached Pridemark Construction’s design team with a need to expand, the contractor said in a news release. “The organization had outgrown their existing facility and needed more room to accommodate their growing clientele. With Tracy’s ideas and Pridemark’s expertise, the design was created.”
The 24,640 sq. ft. building at the intersection of Morrison Rd. and Woods Edge Ln. will have two large gyms, a lobby, reception area, locker room, restrooms, and staff offices. The new building will house the cheer and gymnastics teams. The dance teams will remain at Cole Academy’s existing facility on Keesling Ave.
“We are excited to break ground on Pridemark’s first in-house design-build project” says architect Cynthia Hunter. “Together, with Cole Academy, we were able to fine-tune our process and create a functional facility for Cole’s teams.”
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017. All-Star Cheer Try-Outs for the 2017-2018 season are scheduled for May 4 and 6. They will move to the new facility once completed. This will be the first set of teams to practice in the new gym. When asked about the new building, Navas said: “I have been through so much with this project and fought hard to make this happen for our athletes. I’m glad the time is finally here that we can announce it to the public.”
