Chicago has issued a $160 million building permit for a new 56-story skyscraper at 808 S. Michigan, overlooking Grant Park and Lake Michigan.
Curbed Chicago reported earlier that the 620-ft. Essex on the Park building has been developed by Oxford Capital and designed by Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture. Power Construction Company is the general contractor for the 479-unit rental building.
Key subtrades listed on the permit include: Electrical — Gibson Electric Co., Inc.; masonry — Adjustable Forms Inc. and Power Construction Company; plumbing — Ewing-Doherty Mechanical, Inc.; and refrigeration and ventilation — Advance Mechanical.
