Outdoor power equipment giant ECHO Incorporated in Chicago suburb Lake Zurich is expanding its corporate headquarters and has selected once again PREMIER Design + Build Group, LLC to turn the company’s vision into a reality.
This is the third major project PREMIER has constructed for ECHO over the last 10 years. ECHO is a global supplier of professional-grade outdoor power equipment sold through 6,200 independent dealers and The Home Depot.
The addition will add 49,835 sq. ft. to the company’s campus located at 400 Oakwood Rd. and will be a natural extension of the building already in place. The addition is situated on 35 acres that hosts ECHO’s corporate headquarters and manufacturing/distribution operations and will feature many state-of-the art amenities. The new addition brings the total under roof compound to 578,000 sq. ft.
Construction began during the second quarter of 2016. Significant progress has been made and the project is currently on time and on budget. The precast wall panels are up and the structural steel and roofing are complete. The second floor concrete deck has been poured, framing has begun, windows are installed, the glass curtain wall installation is ongoing and the parking lot expansion is underway.
“We know that Echo sets the bar very high and we are up to the challenge of delivering a great design + build experience for this top-tier company,” says Brian Paul, executive vice-president of PREMIER Design + Build, LLC. “We are honored to have this opportunity to work with them on this exciting project.”
The majority of the new structure is built using architectural precast, steel and glass materials. The inviting exterior will feature newly constructed sidewalks, curbs and planted trees to welcome employees and visitors alike to ECHO Incorporated. The new parking lot will feature 212 parking stalls. Given the company’s growth, the location of ECHO’s headquarters is a plus. A large work force of educated and skilled employees is pulled from the surrounding area. Lake Zurich in Lake County has a 703,000-plus population.
The PREMIER team responsible for this design and build is vice-president Mark Melone, project manager Samantha Skopek and superintendent Tom Johnson.
