Dewberry has announced that Robert (Bob) Williams, PE, LEED AP, has joined the firm as president of its national design-build practice.
In his new role, Williams will oversee nearly 50 individuals operating across the commercial, federal, and state/local markets. He will be based in the firm’s Raleigh, North Carolina, office. He brings more than 35 years of experience in the engineering industry, including more than 20 years leading design-build, construction, and alternative delivery functions. During his career, he has managed multi-million-dollar design-build projects that included design, strategic planning, and community engagement components.
Prior to joining Dewberry, Williams served as executive vice president and region leader for a construction firm. He established the firm’s Raleigh practice in 2018 and grew operations to $60 million in annual revenue by 2025.
At Dewberry, Williams will provide strategic leadership for the firm’s national design-build practice and oversee design-build and construction projects for public- and private-sector clients.

Williams earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Purdue University in 1997 and a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering and management from Purdue University in 1991.
He is a member of the Associated General Contractors and previously served on the boards of the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
