Stantec expands Florida offices, welcomes new project managers and surveyor

Stantec, an international engineering, design and consultancy firm, is expanding its Florida workforce, hiring two new project managers and a senior surveyor.

Joining the company’s Tampa office is former Pasco County Planning & Development executive planner Matt Armstrong. As a new project manager in the Land Use Planning Group, he will bring nearly two decades of experience in urban planning and land-use policy development into the local office.

While working for Pasco County, one of Armstrong’s responsibilities included managing the Long Range Planning Group, which implemented aspects of the County’s Comprehensive Plan; the plan that won the county a first-place award for Planning and Development from the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council in 2015.

Armstrong also worked as an urban planner for NASA and the US Air Force at the Kennedy Space Center where he gained experience in large-scale medical and military facility design and master planning from across the country and abroad.

His recent projects include Isleworth in Windermere, Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, and various civil engineering projects for Orlando International and Executive Airports.

Meanwhile, the West Palm Beach office welcomed Patrick Meeds as a senior surveyor, offering almost four decades of experience providing surveys on transportation, energy, environmental, and hydrographic projects across Florida.
