Stellar says it has committed to donate a total of $100,000 to Flagler Health Care Foundation over the next five years ($20,000 each year). The funds will benefit Flagler Hospital, a not-for-profit care center in St. Augustine.
“Flagler Hospital has been caring for our community since 1889,” said Flagler Hospital CEO Joe Gordy. “From the beginning, it has been the tremendous generosity of individuals and organizations like Stellar that have facilitated our ongoing ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to the residents of St. Johns County.”
Flagler Hospital has 1,900 full-time employees and 256 community physicians, making it St. Johns County’s largest private employer. Funds from donors helped support the service of 14,000 inpatients, 16,000 surgical cases, 59,000 ER visits, 141,000 radiology exams, 1,100,000 lab tests and 1,550 newborns last year.
“At Stellar, we know the extent of work that goes into building and maintaining a healthcare facility — and it’s not always easy for not-for-profit organizations to afford on their own,” said Mike Santarone, Stellar president and COO. “Our hope is to allow Flagler Hospital, a center of excellence, to be a reliable resource for the community and our employees, continuing to give patients top-notch care.”
