Chicago general contractor Summit Design + Build, LLC says it has recently hired Leo Hoerdemann and Helenia Madrigal. “The two industry veterans have filled new senior leadership roles that were created as a result of the firm’s growth,” the contractor says in a news release.
Hoerdemann will be vice-president, assisting in managing the overall operations of the firm including project management, field operations, estimating and business development, and will review and improve internal operations including human resources, billing and cash flow, and contract review. He will also be responsible for formulating a long term company growth plan including the firm’s expansion out-of-state.
He has more than 24 years of design and construction experience and most recently held the position of senior project manager at Power Construction Company. He received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Villanova University and is a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council.
Madrigal will serve as the director of interiors for the firm’s newly formed Tenant Improvement and Office Build-Out Division. She will be responsible for growing and leading this section of the business while also assisting with the overall operations of the company including estimating and business development in order to drive growth in all markets. Madrigal, who has more than 20 years’ experience building relationships and leading projects, most recently held the position of Project Executive at Executive Construction, Inc. She received a BA/SA in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Masters in Construction Management and Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis.
“All of us at Summit Design + Build are thrilled to have Leo and Helenia on board,” said Summit president Adam Miller. “As we have continued our rapid growth, we recognized a need for these roles. Not only will this allow me to take a step back and focus on all areas of the business more, but Leo and Helenia will also be integral in improving our processes and growing the firm in many directions.”
