Tied to the job site: Alleged thief discovers the risk messing with a Charlotte construction crew

A suspected construction site thief ended up being tied and taped to scaffolding in Charlotte when a group of construction workers took matters into their own hands on Aug. 9.

FOX 46 WJZY reports the incident happened about 3:40 p.m. at 229 N. Church St., according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. A viewer stumbled upon the scene and says the crew was working on the corner of Church St. and W. 6th St. when the man tried to break into one of their construction vehicles.

The group of workers from Baker Roofing caught the man, taped and tied him to scaffolding until police arrived.
