Skanska led a team demolishing the old Kosciuszko Bridge through controlled explosions on Oct. 2.
Engineers determined that ‘energetic felling’ – better known as controlled implosion – was determined to be the safest, most effective and fastest way to bring down the old bridge.
Some 20 steel trusses were dropped, to make room for the completion of a new $873 million bridge to replace the 78-year-old structure.
