Related Midwest says that construction on One Bennett Park, the developer’s residential tower at 451 E. Grand Ave. in the Streeterville neighborhood, is running on schedule two years before completion, surpassing the 100-foot milestone. Last week, crews poured the ninth and 10th floors of the 70-story high-rise, slated to be Chicago’s tallest all-residential tower, with topping-off anticipated for early 2018.
Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, the tower will include 69 condominiums and 279 apartments adjacent to a 1.7-acre park. Chicago-based Lendlease is serving as the general contractor, with GREC Architects as architect of record. The tower broke ground in February 2016 and is scheduled for completion in mid-2019.
“Our progress on One Bennett Park is a testament to our team’s experience executing developments of this size and complexity,” Don Biernacki, senior vice-president of construction at Related Midwest, said in a statement. “Despite some weather-related challenges encountered over the winter, we’ve managed to stay on track with our construction schedule. We’ve entered a three-day pour phase, meaning that we’re pouring one full floor in just three days’ time.”
