Have you taken measures to comply with the newly enforced Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) respirable crystalline silica standard for the construction industry?
The standard, which went into effect Sept. 23, sets a new exposure limit of 50 micrograms of respirable crystalline silica per cubic meter of air as an 8-hour Time-Weighted Average (TWA), along with a host of ancillary provisions such as establishing a written exposure control plan, housekeeping requirements, record-keeping, and medical surveillance.
